Position Description

Job Summary

Within a patient centered culture, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist providers and nursing staff deliver optimal patient care, and work with others to achieve efficient clinical and business operations. The LPN performs both clinical and administrative tasks.

With a patient-centered culture, the Licensed Practical Nurse will -as directed by the RN and defined in the state’s Scope of Practice- provide direct patient care, meeting the physical, age-specific, social, mental status, cultural and spiritual needs of the patients in accordance with physicians' orders, The Joint Commission, OSHA, nursing and department guidelines.

Responsibilities

Embraces new and innovative approaches that will improve efficiency. Understanding Roles and Responsibilities Takes responsibility for clarifying job responsibilities, including the need to understand performance standards and other expectations. Communicates with supervisor regularly to ensure that there is no misunderstanding about how performance will be measured and how expectations relate to the job. Seeks clarification as needed or when responsibilities are not understood. Willingly accepts change. Will work in clinics across the physician enterprise as needed. Travel is required.

Customer Focus Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner. Accountability The ability to ensure that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed. Job Skills Possess sufficient job skills and knowledge to perform the job in a competent manner and be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge in day-to-day situations. Planning Develops the steps necessary to accomplish goals and establishes realistic plans to reach them. These steps include allocating required resources, planning for contingencies and setting milestones to measure progress. Safety Understands every safety practice expected by Mon Health and engage in practices that decrease the risk of accidents, injuries or equipment failures.

Heavy Work Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.
